Rudraksha is a Hindu name for the hard and dark Elaeocarpus ganitrus fruit. The word Rudraksha is a Sanskrit word which is a combination of two words 'Rudra' and 'Aks'. 'Rudra' is another name of Lord Shiva and 'Aks' is used for eyes in Sanskrit and Hindi. So, Rudraksha means eyes of Lord Shiva.
